The Summer Slow Down
Aug 28, 2022After brushing up on various skills and dynamics related to time this month, we'll conclude tomorrow with a short teaching and practice I call:
The Summer Slow Down
(no, it's not a dance move, tho it probably could be!)
We'll chat a little about the special transitionary season that we've just entered that Chinese Medicine calls The Fifth Season.
It's when the days are still long and warm, but that very subtle crispness has begun to be detectable in the air, those edges of color in deciduous leaves.
And because our bodies are mini earths, they are also undergoing to change. What I've found in my own practice is that even small ways of attuning and becoming sensitive to these changes around and within us--all pulsations of the living cosmos of which we are a part-- can support living and moving with them with a little more ease, a little more kindness.
So in honor of this end of summer-time, we're gonna slow down, settle in, and give the season a moment to speak to us.
So check out the video below for the Summer Slow Down.
